Tom has been a career pilot and long-time instructor for American Airlines, now with the rank of Chief Pilot.  He was one of the 27-person team for "Shepherd One" ... the American Airlines plane assigned to Pope Francis when the pope visited the United States in 2015. One of four pilots on the team, Tom was the initial pilot for each leg of the tour.

And last month he piloted the American Airlines plane which flew the Philadelphia Eagles ( and the Lombardi trophy ) back home from New Orleans and their Super Bowl victory.
