Princeton Corridor Rotarian Andrea Dinan and her Princeton High School colleague Christine Carbone spent a week in March in the city of Mérida, Mexico. This is the sixth year of the English Language Boot Camp program that the two teachers created for a high school in the South of the city populated primarily by Mayan and itinerant workers.
Via joint support from Andrea’s home Rotary Club and the support of the Club Rotario de Mérida, the teachers have been able to meet with 50 students annually interested in practicing their English and help prepare them for their college entrance exam.
We inducted another new member of our club. Denise Goetting has joined us. Denise is a Senior Vice President, Regional Manager with First Bank.
She is also a very experienced Rotarian having served as a past President so we are glad to welcome her back to continue her Rotary journey. We wish you continued success.
Our speaker on April 19 was Dan Sczweck. Dan is the President/Executive Director of the Miracle League of Mercer County. The league provides fully inclusive baseball programs to individuals with special needs.
